Off-Shoulder Ruffle Top Hack

I’ve been at it again with the ruffles! The obsession is real and I am so in love with this trend. Have a look at my YouTube video to hear more about how I made it 🙂

Pattern: This was a very experimental sew but the basis was my trusty Tilly and the Buttons Coco  pattern

Fabric: Peacock blue cotton jersey from The Village Haberdashery

Hacks: I played around with the Tilly and the Buttons Coco top to create a different look:

1) Lowered the neckline at the front and back,

2) rotated the shoulders outwards to create the slight off-shoulder effect,

3) trimmed the bodice to a cropped length,

4) added a “circle ruffle” to the hem.

I wore the top with skinny jeans, heels and red lipstick for my birthday drinks and it was the perfect “dressed up but not dressy” outfit for a special, yet informal occasion. I am so chuffed to say that this top is a resounding success!
